Rotac Co., Ltd. won the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award in the new manufacturing technology category at the ‘2024 Korea Industry Awards’.

Rotac is a specialized manufacturer of electric distribution circuits and has been recognized for its own development of slip rings for industrial as well as defense products and special products. Sliprings (rotary connectors) are a key component of military electro- optical equipment, but due to a lack of domestic technology, they were entirely imported from overseas. However, through technical cooperation, Rotac succeeded in developing four types of sliprings for the defense industry and also succeeded in domestically producing sliprings for defense products such as tanks, mortars, radars, and submarines.

Currently, it has excellent quality and technology, including internalization of all processes from design, production, and testing, and is developing sliprings for various fields such as wind power generators, robots, and aerospace.

Jungtea Son, CEO of Rotac, expressed his thoughts, saying, “We will develop the sliprings needed for the right place and contribute to the Korean defense industry and furthermore, become Rotac, which can take the lead in enhancing national prestige.”
